A Tribute For A Good Person, Ray, The Meaning Of Fellowship, Along With "The Law Of Reciprocity"

The foregoing tribute takes place just after attending a Memorial Service for a friend of mine that passed away recently. His name is Ray.

I met Ray in person a couple of years back, but in reality, I've known him most of my life. We hail from different backgrounds. We are not the same color, educational background, faith or race (except for the human race). So far, not much to base a tribute on.

Instead, what we did have in common, however, was really a sickness which currently has no cure. It is difficult to clarify to those not afflicted but yet is not difficult to discuss with those that are. Ray and I did plenty of sharing over these prior two years. This tribute comes as a result of that sharing mainly because it altered my mindset towards my illness and my outlook of the future to a positive one. For this I want to personally pay tribute to my good friend.

No matter what our challenges may be, finding compatible people who share a common interest can be extremely empowering. The psychological lift that comes from having open, sincere and supportive relationships makes life worth living. The "Law of Reciprocity" will work for anybody who is willing to take advantage of it by not taking advantage of others.

Always keep in mind, that somewhere underlying each and every Advertisement, Video, Email, Website and annoying Pop-Up, you will find a real live human being that may possess a common interest along with you. Tell them what you are doing and how to do it the correct way and they just may begin sharing right back. Even though it appears you get taken advantage of from time to time, stay the course. Those that take advantage will certainly be the losers, not you.

Ray's readiness to remain brutally truthful about himself with others helped them to feel comfortable in doing the same thing. It wasn't just the trustworthiness however, it was also his style. He never seemed to take himself too seriously. He would repeat some very serious periods in his life utilizing class and humor. When he was finished you'd be left taking stock of yourself, yet invariably having a smile.

I was not the only person which Ray helped to deal with their own condition. There are many others who join along with me in this tribute. It's too bad Ray will no longer have the opportunity to continue his sharing with others face to face. Even so, his endeavors and his example will continue to spread Viraly (word of mouth) through me as well as others he helped.

Finally, I'm paying tribute to Ray for the reason that I feel that one of the purposes we are on this earth for is to leave it a better place than when we found it. To Ray I declare, "Mission Accomplished". You will be missed but not forgotten.
